We only recently learnt that id Software's Doom 4 project is still a thing, when a pre-order promotion for Bethesda's upcoming Wolfenstein: The New Order promised players access to a game now known simply as DOOM.

However, the FAQ for that promotion has since been updated, explaining that the DOOM beta will only be made available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, suggesting that unlike the new Wolfenstein game, the new Doom will not be appearing on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (thanks VG 247).

Wolfenstein: The New Order is due on all five platforms on May 20 2014, but a date for the DOOM beta has yet to be disclosed.
