A recent Rockstar Games blog post reveals that the publisher/developer is more than aware people are screaming out for a PC version of their much loved and critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption. But you shouldn't hold your breath for them to answer the call.
We do know that, yes, there is just one title absent from our PC release plans – that game of course being Red Dead Redemption, and of course we’re well aware that some fans have been asking for it. All we can say is that whenever it is viable (technically, developmentally and business-wise) for us to release a game for PC (or any other particular platform) – we will and we usually do; unfortunately, that is just not the case 100% of the time for all platforms.
The rest of the post goes on to say that Rockstar hopes Max and L.A. Noire will sate PC players, but somehow I just don't think it will.

SAD FACE. I really want to give this game a go but my Xbox is toast and I can't be bothered fixing it... I have been waiting for the day it pops up in a Steam sale. I guess I'll be waiting for a while yet :(

How the f*** wouldn't it be viable, that's what I wanna know.
I'd be willing to bet that it would sell like hotcakes on the PC.
umm, profit?

God damn. I'd rather Red Dead than f*****g LA Noire any day.

^^ So would I. L.A Noire was a solid game, but nowhere near as good across the park as Red Dead.

Given how much horsie riding and stuff there is I think this would control better on a console with a controller than a PC with a mouse/keyboard. Still, sucks if you don't own a console yet (cheap bastards).

People shouldn't be shocked. Rockstar have never been a PC development company since GTA2. They make games for consoles and that's how they like it. The games they DO release on PC are always half assed ports with awkward controls anyway. GTA4 was the closest they've come to releasing a decent PC game and even then that failed because the game engine f*****g sucked.

Red Dead Redemption was Rockstar San Diego, not Rockstar North. Their last PC game was Midnight Club II.

Mouse and keyboard would work fine. WASD keys to control the horse and mouse to look around and shoot.

I own a 360, PS3 and a decent gaming PC. I refuse to buy this game until it gets a PC release, and I'm not buying the whole piracy excuse for the PC market being overlooked for the console market. It would be nice if these companies looked after the community they get all their talent from.

I have a PS3 and own RDR, but would much rather play it with mouse aim than the snap auto aim. Biggest disappointment of gaming for me recently is this not going to PC

If RDR was released on PC....I would bloody buy it......Buy it from EB games........Thats how much I would want it.

If there is no RDR on PC then I demand LA Noire gets scraped too. Any and all development/Porting by any Rockstar office should stop and be scraped of/for any future PC development. If I can not have RDR there is no point in selling me any Rockstar IPs. Rockstar is cheating on us with that slutty console crowd. Yes... I do feel a little butt hurt about this.
