BioWare has unveiled a new gameplay trailer showing off just what you can expect from the team's first next-gen game and third title in the Dragon Age series, this time running on DICE's well known Frostbite 3.0 engine.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is BioWare’s first next-gen game. It’s also our most ambitious game to date! Nowhere is this more visible than in the incredible size and diversity of locations, life, and hidden places you’ll discover on your journey.

Our new “Discover the Dragon Age” video highlights only some of the locations you can choose to visit during your adventure. Each area in the video has its own realistic ecosystem with predators, prey, factions, and opportunities to expand your Inquisition.

BioWare revealed further information on the game through a new blog entry, detailing that the world's population will be based on an emergent system that adjusts what you’ll encounter based on how your actions tip the balance in the area. "You’ll see towns attacked by bandits, deer fleeing from wolves, giant’s feeding on bears, and countless other scenarios."

To help add to the realism the team at BioWare has also utilised the Frostbite engine to further push the world of Dragon Age to life. Some of the features teased include weather that will create naturally-formed puddles and spider webs that blow in the wind. By using the engine, Dragon Age: Inquisition will supposedly support massive areas, destruction and advanced next-gen technology to help further push the game's design. Hopefully it can live up to those promises, but for now all we can do is click play and stare.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is due on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in late 2014. Check out the trailer below to see the game in action.
