Season 1: Zero Hour has been met with a more positive reaction from fans.
In addition to many bug fixes and balance changes the new Season introduced a new map, Specialist, weapons, and complete overhaul of one of the existing launch maps.
"It's important for us to improve Battlefield 2042 and the experience that we can provide to our players," Rebecka Coutaz tells Gamesindustry.biz. "We owe them that." This comes after stating that disappointing fans that have been with the franchise for 20 years hit the team really hard.

"We are only focusing on Battlefield 2042," Rebecka Coutaz confirms. "There is no time for anything else and this is what we want to do. In three years, we want to be the first-person shooter powerhouse that DICE deserves to be, and that is what we're going for."
