This has to be watched. If you have only a spare 30 minutes today and don't know what to use it on, centre all of your efforts towards watching Devolver Digital's Marketing Countdown to Marketing which unashamedly pokes the best fun at an industry on the verge of it doesn't even know what, and Devolver knows this.

NFTs, mergers, acquisitions, marketing ploys... everything. This video manages to be the most poignant hot-take on gaming as an industry today, while also sharing info on some seriously cool games, two of which are by Aussie studios.

Deliver us, Devolver Digital.

The post-show video, which is full of awesome 80s movie references for the Gen-Xers like myself out there, also features games industry legend Suda 51 as "Mecha Suda 51" which should give you a bit of an indication as to the level of silly here, but also the level of "fuck it" and "fuck you" to an industry rife with ploys and money-grubbing and bad ideas is... palpable. Best of all is that Devolver does not exclude itself in this commentary.

For anyone else who can't spare the 30 minutes to watch (it's actually a hair over 25 minutes), check out the key titles revealed and highlighted via the link below, kicking off with the two Aussie joints.

Devolver Digital continues to be the outlier publisher, nodding its head to cool tunes over in the corner at the party, surrounded by no one, which only magnifies its mystique. "Who is that solo hunk?" being the sentiment through which the rest of us views them.

Clikc here for a closer look at Devolver Digital's 2022 and 2023 stable of games.
