Deathloop is the latest first-person jam from Dishonored studio Arkane and Bethesda. Even the latter is now in the Xbox family, Deathloop will release exclusively on the PlayStation 5 and PC on May 21, 2021. And with the release a few months out we've got a new Bond-style music video meets trailer deal that highlights the style and cool of the game's repeating timeloop setup.

It feels like the coming together of classic Bond, Tarantino cool, and Arkane first-person magic. So yeah, much hype for this one. So sit back and relax and take in "Déjà Vu" an original song by Sencit feat. FJØRA.

Everyone knows the feeling of déjà vu – that sensation that you’ve experienced something before. For Colt, this feeling is near-constant. Trapped in a time loop, Colt has been experiencing déjà vu for as long as he can remember. Every time the day loops, it’s a struggle to remember everything and use the knowledge he has to push himself forward and, hopefully, off the island of Blackreef.

As per the description above the goal of the game is to break the timeloop and get off the island of Blackreef using abilities that wouldn't feel put of place in Dishonored and weapons that look like they're from some alternate vision of the 1970s. The goal, assassinate eight key targets. The problem, there's a powerful rival assassin looking to protect the loop.

The gameplay featured in the trailer above was captured on PlayStation 5 hardware making this the studio's first next-gen title and one that will make full use of the DualSense controller's features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
