In addition to the standalone Wolfenstein: Youngblood out next month, a collaboration between Arkane Studios Lyon and MachineGames, the team behind Dishonored is cooking up a brand-new game. Called Deathloop it will take players to the island of Blackreef where an "eternal struggle between two extraordinary assassins" will take place. And seemingly, take place again.
Explore stunning environments and meticulously designed levels in an immersive gameplay experience that lets you approach every situation any way you like. Hunt down targets all over the island in an effort to put an end to the cycle once and for all, and remember, if at first you don’t succeed… die, die again.
With a pre-rendered, and very stylish, cinematic trailer there isn't a lot to go on. The description hints at a single location, one that will build on the combat freedom laid down in the Dishonored series - and a time-loop. It's expected that players will take on the roles of “The Captain” and “Jules”, two asassins stuck in a time-loop. As per its introduction as part of Bethesda's E3 presentation, traditional Arkane elements like an in-depth story and intricate levels will also play a role.
No word yet on a release window or what platforms Deathloop will end up on.
