A lengthy Dead Space Remake stream took place over the weekend with developer Motive showcasing some of the tech that's going into remaking the iconic survival horror game. The near hour-long presentation covers audio, weapon sounds, and a fascinating new A.L.I.V.E. system that changes up Isaac's breathing, speech, and grunts depending on his physical and mental state.

The full presentation below is definitely a very cool look at the development of the built-from-the-ground-up remake. The A.L.I.V.E. system in particular showcases the attention to detail going into this remake, where audio looks to be getting the same level of attention as everything else. Which is awesome because Dead Space still resonates today thanks in part to the incredible sound design and how it helps build and add to the tension of exploring the Ishimura.

The presentation ended with a cool little 'Atmospheric Walkthrough' showcasing the audio, visuals, and new weapon sounds.

Dead Space Remake is on track for an early 2023 launch, with the next developer stream happening in May 2022. Which will focus on Art Design.
