Hey, remember Dead Island? Well, it's back and in remastered form. With Dead Island: Definitive Edition, due for release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 31. What does it include? Well, plenty of repackaged Dead Island of course. With remastered versions of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide, including all new high resolution stuff, re-done zombie models, slightly different lighting, and all previously-released content in one neat package.

The pack will also come with the retro-inspired sidescroller Dead Island: Retro Revenge. Check out the announcement trailer below, and be reminded of the fantastically poor voice work from the game.

It'll be interesting to see if this version of Dead Island will retain the original game's overall unpolished and scrappy feel, something which added to the charm of slicing up zombies in a tropical getaway setting.

Does a game thats only 5 years old and was alreadyf HD when it came out, really need remastering? This is starting to get a bit silly

Just get Dying Light. It is better in every way.

I got extremely bored with Dead Island. Guns were rare until the second major area. It was just so repetitive.

They don't need to remaster it on PC so much as patch it to make it work at all...

There's still a 'known' issue with some sound hardware which they patched INTO the farking game.

I had Dying Light bought for me, and whilst I don't hate DL; it reminds me of why I won't pay for, or play a Techland game again.
