Heard about the console port issues with this one so i got a torrent version to try first.

so long as you use the resolution fix, and a controller, the game is just as good as the console version. Seriously though, don't try play it without a controller.

keen for the DLC

you're a brave soul taking on a torrent version, purely for the fact is you have no one to help you at all so i hope you're pretty good. should make your first run through the capra demon fun :)

and yeah, wouldn't play it without a controller

Is the game coop? I didnt even know that but i have no friends to play with so no matter what, its gunna be solo play for me.

And f*** controller. I have a PC for keyboard + mouse. If controls suck without a gamepad then i have no chance as im mega noob using controller.

seriously the controls suck without a controller.

The game has online co op, but it's not your typical set up. I leave a sign on the ground in my game, someone else sees it in theirs and summons me, i can only stay as long as i stay alive, or we kill that area boss. It's a fun concept, but the co op breaks the difficulty of the game, it's generally more fun without it honestly.

you really need a controller

is isn't coop like you jump in with your mates

you can summon other people to help you, as long as the area boss is still alive in your game. you will see the peoples summon signs on the ground at certain points in the game before bosses and stuff.

you can also be summoned by placing your summon sign on the ground and other people can bring you into their game for you to help them and i think you get half of the reward for the boss kill, you can farm this if you like

there is also the invaders that invade your world to kill you for your humanity and souls

you can only summon/be summoned/invade/be invaded if you're in human form

but the co op breaks the difficulty of the game, it's generally more fun without it honestly

do agree somewhat, though i found the game hard enough with summoning help for bosses - capra demon because of the gay narrow room, gaping dragon and queelag all come to mind as useful summoning

i did eventually beat the capra demon on my ng+ play through yesterday too a bit of time and some gear swapping - couldn't find anyone to summon i suspect because my level is too low

Controller all the way, you really want analog movement for this game, WASD wont cut it.

I honestly dont see how an analog stick is better than WASD. Maybe with regards to being able to easily move precise directions (say north north east) but i dont see the difficulty in holding W while tapping D to achieve the same result. Im sure if i had grown up on a console and not PC it would be a different story. I have a console mate who swears he is better in FPS with a controller than keyboard+mouse.

Its because the input is analog, its got several degrees to it, as opposed to merely off or on. You push the stick a little bit forward and you can walk, push it further forward and you run etc. Precise movement is really important in this game so I prefer a control pad. I also think the animations look much smoother when you control with joysticks. Combine that with 360 degree movement, instead of 8 directional movement, and the whole package is much more attractive to me.

joystick aiming will always be inferior to mouse, but some people might have more skill using controllers than mouse keyboard, hence will prefer that setup.

Valid point but assuming there is a walk/run key then i still hope keyboard will do the job OK.

haha you wait and see

when you're trying to circle and roll and dodge and s*** all at the same time in this game, which is keeping alive against a boss that can pretty much one shot kill you, you will understand, you need that more diverse input that the sticks give you

Just tested it.

Nice intro movie, too bad i couldnt skip it.

Terrible learning process as the game tells you the xbox control key to do an action instead of the PC bind. Makes it difficult to figure out what button does what.

My mouse sensitivity is much too high but im not sure i can change this as it seems to be only an option when starting a new game?

At least the game runs so ill see about going back to it but at this stage i dunno if i CBF dealing with such a bad port. May as well get a f*****g xbox controller.
