There have been a number of RPGs released over the years that have allowed you to select a backstory for your character, or their upbringing. A choice which then flows on to skills, abilities, and potential narrative branches that might appear. This is true of CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077, but as this new Lifepaths breakdown video shows - choosing Corpo, Nomad, or Street Kid opens the door to a very different opening experience.

Like the origin stories from BioWare's Dragon Age: Origins, selecting Street Kid or Nomad or Corpo presents a different setting and story for the start of your Cyberpunk 2077 journey. And a different way for you to end up embroiled in the overarching story.

Check it out, each looks amazing.

And as per our recent hands-on, lengthy too - with the Nomad life-path beginning in the Badlands, the outskirts of Night City in a dusty sort of one-robot horse town. A place where the Sheriff runs things and dusk campfire synth jams are a favourite past-time.

Each of the three Lifepaths looks interesting enough to warrant multiple playthroughs -- and on that front, for me, I'm weirdly leaning towards going Corpo for that first Cyberpunk 2077 run. Champagne in skycar -- and then expelling it in a fancy future bathroom ahead of a big meeting.
