And that makes the game a bona fide success, which is great news for Aussie game development, and also for prospective publishers looking to Devolver Digital's faith in such a product, and the rewards that has now reaped. And it's still early days, with a roadmap for the game yet to be unveiled, leaving the future here looking pretty lamb bright, indeed.

(Sorry, not sorry.)

Despite the game's current critical and commercial success, it hasn't been a smooth launch, with plenty of feedback pointing out bugs, performance issues and just plain crashes. In our experience with the game on PC via Steam, we had no such woes, but upon receiving the game to experience on Xbox Series X, we encountered a lot of lag and requirements to quit and reload after sessions longer than about two hours, among a small handful of other annoyances.
Critical acclaim preceded Cult of the Lamb’s arrival, the likes of which burns positive sentiment into the annals of video game history, but Lo, the faithful community hath spoken of struggles - bugs and all manner of fiendish things that must be eliminated!

Massive Monster are listening. Actively engaging with their loyal community, the developers are hard at work prepping a multitude of fixes, improvements and general housekeeping that they hope will continue to spread positivity throughout the land. Those followers wishing to provide feedback may do so via this public confession booth.
In our own review of the game, which we scored a whopping 9.8/10, we wrote:
Cult of the Lamb is a rare piece of art in gaming. It’s probably the best game ever made in Australia at this point, and is so because it’s infinitely rewarding. I couldn’t stop worrying about my Followers, or thinking about what they needed next, but I also couldn’t stop abusing my power and letting myself drift into dark places. And I honestly haven’t covered even close to everything -- something I can't stress enough. The game is just so full of character and charm and wit and depth. And I can’t recommend it enough -- trust me, I’m a Cult leader.
Cult of the Lamb is available now for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
