Looks like the AW in Control's strange Altered World Events (AWEs) is too good of a thing for Remedy to not add a little crossover magic. That is, with the studio's other classic supernatural mind-bender from back in the day - Alan Wake. With the next expansion for Control (our pick for 2019's Game Of The Year) due for release on August 27 across PS4, PC, and Xbox One - the following teaser trailer teases just that.

With a flash of ol' Alan.

AWE, the second and final expansion for Control, launches August 27 on Epic Games Store, PS4 and Xbox One. AWE will take Bureau Director Jesse Faden to the Investigations Sector of the Oldest House, where the Federal Bureau of Control closely examines Altered World Events (AWE) – happenings where paranatural forces breach our world with sometimes grave consequences.

The expansion, which becomes available following the completion of the seventh main mission in the campaign, will require players enter the Investigations Sector and confront the creature lurking within this long-abandoned part of the Bureau. To reclaim the Investigations Sector from its clutches, Jesse will need to explore the Altered World Events investigated here, including one from the town of Bright Falls where Jesse learns more about the disappearance of the writer Alan Wake.

As per above this second expansion will serve as a closing chapter of sorts for Control (for now). In addition to the above teaser Remedy will be streaming the first 15 minutes of the AWE expansion this time next week.

After that, well, we've got our fingers crossed that a Control 2 is in its early stages of development.
