Despite being based off a table-top board-game, Cyanide Studios' forthcoming RTS-RPG hybrid, Confrontation, does a lot to expand its base and successfully emerge as a compelling videogame adaptation.

For the uninitiated, Confrontation sees two enemy forces pitted against each other in all out warfare. Serving up a mixture of varying components such as science, role-playing, fantasy and strategy, Confrontation could be paralleled to Game Workshop's Warhammer 40K, but also does enough to maintain -- and build -- it's own unique identity, as we found out after getting hands-on with a preview build of the game.
