And by adventure we mean taking one of the PCs earliest and most memorable attempts at creating a Super Mario Bros. style platformer and transforming the 16-colour EGA memory of Commander Keen into a bright yet dull mobile offering. Developed by ZeniMax Online Studios, the game is set to be released for Android and iOS devices.

But really, if you remember the original id Software series, then this look at Commander Keen in 2019 gameplay will quickly dampen and eradicate any excitement you might of had.

Dadmiral Keen has been kidnapped, and only twin geniuses Billie and Billy can save him! Commander Keen returns in an all-new mobile adventure from ZeniMax Online Studios. Utilize a zany collection of gadgets that blast, bounce, and baffle your enemies in the solo Story Mode, or go helmet-to-helmet against your fellow commanders in Battle Mode. It’s time to kick some asteroid!

As a game aimed at a new younger audience then Commander Keen looks fine. But still, an almost instantly forgettable announcement. Which is a shame.
