With Melbourne-based studio Tantalus Media also behind the port after the successful versions recently released for Xbox One and PS4. But yeah, Cities: Skyliens for the Switch - out today - is very cool. Especially when you consider that it's basically the best straight-up city builder available today.


This version has been re-designed for the Switch with a new UI custom-built for the console. It also comes bundled with two of the most popular expansions for the game - After Dark and Snowfall.

“Cities is the first Paradox title on any Nintendo platform, and we are very eager to get the game out to Switch players,” said Sandra Neudinger, Product Manager from Paradox Interactive. “This is an exciting opportunity for the game - for us internally, for current players, and for new players to come. It’s very cool to experience a portable version of Cities: Skylines, so players can now carry their city with them, finding inspiration wherever they go.
