And it'll be released digitally on August 30. Okay so part of the reason this is being posted is because that headline made us chuckle, but also to remind/let you know that a new feature length Final Fantasy film is being released this year to coincide with the eventual release of Final Fantasy XV. With the weird title 'Kingsglaive' the film has already been released in Japan where it has performed reasonably well at the box office.

The western release naturally features a line-up of actors lending their voices to the film, including the aforementioned Aaron Paul, Lena Headley, and Sean Bean. Based on the description and trailer though it looks and sounds about as easy to follow as the previous Final Fantasy film. The one that tied into Final Fantasy VII.

The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the sacred Crystal, and the menacing empire of Niflheim is determined to steal it. King Regis of Lucis (Sean Bean) commands an elite force of soldiers called the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king’s magic, Nyx (Aaron Paul) and his fellow soldiers fight to protect Lucis. As the overwhelming military might of the empire bears down, King Regis is faced with an impossible ultimatum – to marry his son, Prince Noctis to Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae (Lena Headey), captive of Niflheim, and surrender his lands to the empire’s rule. Although the king concedes, it becomes clear that the empire will stop at nothing to achieve their devious goals, with only the Kingsglaive standing between them and world domination.

Still, the CGI looks incredible.

Sean Bean's voice doesn't sound right with the look of that character, and wtf is with the random Audi?

But yeah, amazing CGI.

Boromir was the son of the Steward of Gondor. Not the Steward himself :(

So, if Sean Bean voices the king, I would presume that the king will die.
