The Brisbane-based SEGA Studios Australia is currently working on a remake of the SEGA Megadrive platformer Castle of Illusion Staring Micky Mouse, a 1990 classic originally created by the Japanese team at SEGA's AM7, of Alex Kidd, and Shinobi fame.
Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse first debuted on the SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive in 1990 to critical acclaim. Excellent controls, music, and graphics helped to bring the magic of Disney to millions of SEGA fans around the world. Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse will continue this tradition. Completely rebuilt from the ground up, Castle of Illusion has stunning visuals and new gameplay mechanics. Fans will enjoy the original storyline as they help Mickey save Minnie from the evil witch, Mizrabel.
The game's E3 trailer is now available, showing off quite a lot of fresh paint over the 16bit original. Watch it below.
Castle of Illusion is due on Steam for PC, and XBLA for Xbox 360 and PSN for PlayStation 3 this Winter (Northern Summer).
