In a digital-only release planned for this winter, which will see a remastered version of the original Devil May Cry make its way to the Nintendo Switch. Originally released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2, this version will most likely be the one found in the recent HD Collection that included the first three games.

Here's batch of screens from the Switch version, which retains that 2001 look.

In the original game players took on the role of Dante, and slayed all manner of monstrosities and demons in the series now famous 'stylish action' style. So far this year has been a pretty good one for Devil May Cry, thanks to the stylish return to form that was the release of Devil May Cry 5 on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. With no word on Switch version of that on the horizon, and Capcom already bundling the first-three games for PS4, Xbox One, and PC as part of a HD Collection perhaps this announcement means a gradual rollout of the first three Devil My Cry games as standalone titles.
