Activision has today announced that Call of Duty: Ghosts fans playing on the Xbox platforms will soon be rolling in more DLC with the Invasion pack launching June 3rd.
Invasion will offer the third episode of Ghosts' four-part episodic story, titled "Awakening," that takes place as Ghosts' heroes "descend into the perilous alien underworld."Players will be tasked with searching for who is behind the Cryptid invasion.
"Armed with a range of new hi-tech weapons and equipment, the team must penetrate a series of defensive barriers to reach the Ark and unlock the secrets of the Ancestors' psychic powers," the announcement reads. "As the final battle draws closer, the fate of the Earth and the future of the human race hang in the balance."
Of course it isn't just the episode players will gain in the new DLC, with your standard addition of four new multiplayer maps including fan-favourite Favela from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Departed is set in a "rural Mexican town" during the Day of the Dead celebrations, while Pharaoh takes place in an abandoned archaeological site in Egypt. Mutiny is set on a remote Caribbean island, where players must use speed and stealth to kill their opponents.
"Since its original release, the Brazilian shantytown has seen substantial change," the announcement reads. "Buildings once under construction are now complete, while others have crumbled into a state of disrepair. Players must avoid falling to their death as they traverse the map from one building to the next, with ramshackle scaffolding creating varied pathways between structures, and enemy snipers taking advantage of the long sightlines."
The Invasion DLC will be exclusive first to Xbox 360 and Xbox One, with other platforms gaining access soon after.
That's strange that the DLC is only coming for Xbox? Activision making exclusive content is very out of sorts. Would have to be coming to other platforms eventually though?
