As sure as the sun rises in the morning, Activision will have a new Call of Duty game in November, as the publisher officially announces Call of Duty: Ghosts, coming November 5th 2013 on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and "next generation platforms".
We won't get a look at the game just yet however, as that reveal has been scheduled to take place at Microsoft's much-anticipated next generation Xbox unveiling on May 21st 2013.
The game is being developed by primary CoD studio Infinity Ward, on a "new, next generation Call of Duty engine" and touted as "ushering in the next generation of the franchise".
“Everyone was expecting us to make Modern Warfare 4, which would have been the safe thing to do. But we're not resting on our laurels,” said Mark Rubin, executive producer of developer Infinity Ward. “We saw the console transition as the perfect opportunity to start a new chapter for Call of Duty. So we're building a new sub-brand, a new engine, and a lot of new ideas and experiences for our players. We can't wait to share them with our community."
A teaser trailer featuring some burly guys playing dress up can be viewed below, and if you're the type that likes to pledge money sight unseen, the official website at callofduty.com/ghosts will tell you where you can already pre-order the game.
I might be interested if it has dedicated servers, lan play, and doesn't require me to be always online to play it over lan. (why need to log into steam to play with the guy sitting next to you ffs)
