Where rhythm meets action in the land of Hyrule. The surprise announcement came earlier today as part of a new Nintendo Switch 'Nindies' broadcast showcasing upcoming indie titles coming to the platform. Cadence of Hyrule, which has a SNES A Link to the Past look is a brand new game from indie studio Brace Yourself Games.

That looks to take the style of the acclaimed Crypt of the NecroDancer into the wide world of The Legend of Zelda. Getting to see a new top-down action title in the style of the SNES Zelda classic is not entirely new in the indie world - but getting to see on that's actually a Zelda game too, well, very cool.

Rhythmic action and adventure game in the world of The Legend of Zelda series

Play as Link or Princess Zelda and explore open-air environments and dungeons randomly generated to save Hyrule

Use items from The Legend of Zelda series, as well as spells and weapons from Crypt of the Necrodancer

Battle legendary enemies and bosses in rhythmic and strategic battles

Progress to the rhythm of 25 classic themes of the series The Legend of Zelda remixed for the occasion

Cadence of Hyrule is due for release in the coming months.
