After a reported six months of self-funded development on a Broken Sword sequel, Revolution Software has launched a Kickstarter funding drive to complete the game publisher free, revealing Broken Sword: The Serpent's Curse as the next game in their long-running point and click adventure game series.

In a slick pitch video (embedded below), Revolution Sofware founding Charles Cecil explains how the development team contains many of the original developers, with key voice actors reprising their roles, and that he game will be presented in classic 2D style, hand-drawn by artists from some of the top film animation houses.
Revolution adventures have had considerable success - but the traditional publishing model has prevented us receiving the required royalties to fund future games. With limited financial reserves we have been unable to fund our own titles and so we have not benefited from their success. Now you can help us to change this. For the first time in our history, we will be funding an original adventure game: Broken Sword - the Serpent's Curse. This will give us full creative freedom, and let us work with you. We promise to keep you up to date with all aspects of development and we will value your support.

Development of the game is going well - we hope that you like what you see. Kickstarter funding will allow us to proceed at a faster rate, and ensure the game achieves its ambitious design. Without this funding we will risk having to cut back features and delay the game's release.
The Kickstarter project has a relatively modest goal of US$400,000, and in less than a day has already raised more than a quarter of that target, so it looks to be well on its way.

Watch the pitch video below and head over to the Kickstarter page for more details and to get on board.

I like the part where Ausgamers inserted their logo at the start like a bunch of ebaumsworld wannabes.

The logo isn't actually in the video, I think it's part of the JWPlayer - real question is why they don't just embed a youtube vid or at least the original.
At least we didn't get screenshots, because when you click the screenshots on Ausgamers it exits the thread!!
