That promises multiple worlds to explore with over a billion guns - including a gun that has it's own legs. The reveal trailer made its debut early this morning, showcasing the next evolution in the visual style defined by the original. Although light on story, we do get to see the return of may familiar faces, some playing saxaphone, and some new ones too.
Check it out.
Included in the trailer are returning characters Lilith, Maya, Brick, Mordecai and Zer0 - as well as Claptrap. No release date or platform information was made available alongside the video, with word that "more information about Borderlands 3 will be available starting April 3". Strangely the trailer doesn't really point to any major changes from Borderlands 2 - apart from getting to visit new worlds. From the footage seen it looks to bring back the solo or co-op shooter action that made the first two games so great. Which, yeah, is not a bad thing at all.
So the question now becomes, will this be refinement of what's come before or can we expect a few major changes to the series.
I really like that they haven't moved too far, seemingly, from what made the series stand out in the first place. Hopefully it's not an attempt at a Destiny or Anthem-type game and is just Borderlands, only bigger and in 4K
