Of course
Hearthstone is available to play on both PC and mobile, but rumours have been persisting for sometime that
Blizzard was working on a new "for mobile"
Warcraft game. Although details are slim, as per the latest
Activision Blizzard financial report - it's on track for some form of release this year.
Here's the statement.
"Blizzard is planning substantial new content for the Warcraft franchise in 2022, including new experiences in World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, and getting all-new mobile Warcraft content into players’ hands for the first time."
Blizzard going mobile is a touchy subject, on the account of feedback the studio got when it announced
Diablo Immortal at BlizzCon back in 2018. On the account of it being the first new Diablo game announcement in many years. Since then though we've seen the impressive
Diablo IV in action, not to mention the excellent
Diablo II Resurrected from last year. So yeah, with Immortal's public testing apparently now complete it's full release should be met with far more inviting and open arms.
This is worth keeping in mind as Warcraft is another one of those franchises with its roots firmly planted in PC gaming. Some rumours have pointed to this being a Pokemon Go style AR experience, whilst others are sticking with a mroe traditional RTS framework for the game. With diablo Immortal going through several stages of testing this "all-new mobile Warcraft" will probably release in a limited alpha or beta state this year.
