StarField is the first original IP from Bethesda Game Studios in, well, a long time. It's the latest epic single-player RPG from the team behind The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4, and as a newly minted first-party Xbox studio -- word is it will be released exclusively for Xbox consoles and PC. And made available day one on Xbox Game Pass.

Several sources are citing the exclusivity as a done deal, with GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grubb writing, "Starfield is exclusive to Xbox and PC. Period. This is me confirming that."

After Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda one of the most talked about aspects of the $7.5 billiob USD deal has been the question of exclusivity. Will its franchises become Xbox exclusive? And by exclusive that means not released on PlayStation 5 but instead kept to PC and Xbox consoles, bolstered by being a part of the ever-impressive Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

Starfield was originally announced back in 2018, with a teaser trailer presented by the game's director Todd Howard. Promising an optimised engine and the studio's biggest and most intricate open-world to date, new info has been basically non-existent since then. Rumours are also pointing to a big E3 showing for Starfield next month.

When asked about exclusivity both Xbox and Bethesda have noted that releases will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. That said, Starfield is something of a special case -- it's arguably one of the biggest games currently in development, not only in terms of scope, but potential hype. A true AAA or AAAA title that will set a precedent for Xbox console exclusives from Bethesda going forward.

So yeah, Bethesda's Starfield is set to be an Xbox and PC exclusive.
