After recently going free-to-play, Bethesda's Quake Champions has proved that the world needs a fast-paced arena shooter - especially in the competitive sense with both 2v2 and 1v1 Quake Champions matches being exciting to watch. And now local teams will get the chance to be crowned Australia’s Quake Champions on Sunday, 29 Oct. at the ESL Stage at PAX Australia.
With the winners earning a spot at Dreamhack Winter 2018 in Jönköping, Sweden to compete for their share of the $200,000 USD prize pool. The 2v2 online qualifiers begin this weekend, Sunday September 9, with matches leading up to the final at PAX where the winners will be flown-in to compete.
"The word ‘quake’ refers to an event so massive the earth itself trembles. Australia, a historically tectonically stable region, doesn't normally experience events on a scale the likes of which send tremors through the ground,” said Luke Lancaster, content manager, PAX Aus. “It is a true pleasure that we have the rare privilege of working with Bethesda to make the damn earth shudder with the Quake Championships at PAX Aus this October."
