This morning we pointed out a mysterious countdown site many believe is related to a forthcoming Fallout IP announcement from Bethesda, and in the wake of its unveiling a trademark for 'Fallout 4' has turned up in Europe, Destructoid reports (thanks VG247).

Obviously this could be a coincidence, but there are a few standout factors such as the idea that all Skyrim development has ceased since the release of its last DLC, with Bethesda revealing that the full team is now required to work on their "next major project" to make it their "biggest and best work yet". You can also play with some of the numbers involved with the countdown: Fallout's war happened in 2077, Fallout 3 took place 200 years later, 2299 is 22 years later, two plus two is four -- Fallout 4? (Thanks Dave Oshry.)

Exciting times ahead for Bethesda if this turns out to be true.
