Following the huge success of Fallout 4, Bethesda Game Studios is expanding north of the border (into Quebec, Canada) with a new studio in Montreal. With over 40 developers, the studio is poised to expand Bethesda's capabilities across console, PC, and mobile gaming. With Montreal already housing studios from Ubisoft, Eidos, and EA, this new addition further cements the city as one of the world's premiere locations for game development. And, they speak french.
It's not clear exactly what role the studio will play in Bethesda's future but studio director Todd Howard has stated that this epxansion has been on the cards for a while, "We've worked with some very talented developers in Montreal for a long time, and decided it was time to open a studio there. It's exciting to think about the new games we'll be building together."
Whether or not this means that someday we'll be exploring the icy wastelands of Fallout: Quebec still remains to be seen.
