Following recent reports anticipating a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Bethesda executive Pete Hines has explained that the source of the speculation was in fact a malfunctioning website.

In a twitter post, Hines writes:
"We have been working on the CMS that runs our sites. A bug caused platforms that don't exist to show up for some games Sorry for confusion."
While the response doesn't explicitly deny the existence of PS4 and XB1 ports of Skyrim in the making, it does effectively extinguish the only indication that such a thing might be in the works.

Bethesda-published games currently announced as in development are The Elder Scrolls Online, Wolfenstein: The New Order and The Evil Within, as well as the much-delayed Doom 4.
