Casual players have been complaining that The Evil Within -- a survival-horror experience designed to keep you at arm's length of triumph, and on the edge of your seat always, is too difficult in casual mode.

Bethesda has responded by rebalancing it to serve up more ammo and has made "adjustments to the game's health bar". A new option to play the game in full-screen rather than the intended old-school horror and cinematic letterbox presentation has also been included.

And yes, that's a jerk tone you can read in my voice, because the game was fine as is.

The new changes are part of a June update across all three platforms.

To learn why I was using a jerk tone, click here for our complete The Evil Within review.
