Projectors offer up the sort of cinematic experience that a traditional LCD display just can't quite replicate -- that is the easy on the eyes reflective quality of sitting in a darkened movie theatre. In the age of 4K TVs it's no secret that 4K projectors
aren't exactly cheap. Looking at a TV's 65-inches or bigger and the story is the same, but cramming all those pixels on a projector’s panel is quite the feat. With
BenQ's latest 4K projector -- the gaming focused BenQ TK700STi – it’s not only affordable but offers up low input latency to boot.
With its $2595 price-point (it's currently being sold
exclusively via JB Hi-Fi), the
BenQ TK700STi Short Throw 4K Gaming Projector features a true 4K (3840x2160) image at 60Hz with a low input lag of 16.67ms.
Basically, it’s on par with a display built for gaming. Case in point the 4ms at 1080p 240Hz means you could basically play competitive
CS:GO or
Rainbow Six Siege on the BenQ TK700STi without skipping a beat.
“The TK700STi is changing the gaming experience with unmatched audiovisuals and incredible response time,” said Martin Moelle, Managing Director of BenQ Australia and New Zealand. “Now, gamers can enjoy the fastest gameplay with stunning 4K visuals on a 120-inch screen for the most immersive experience.”
Designed with consoles and PC gaming in mind, from PlayStation 5 to Xbox Series X and even the Nintendo Switch, the TK700STi also doubles as a 4K cinema too (it features built-in Android TV). It supports HDR10 and the new HLG standard, comes equipped with a 3000 ANSI Lumens lamp so it’ll work in rooms with ambient light, and even manages to cover 96% of the Rec.709 colour space. On top of featuring a few presets tuned for specific types of games -- FPS, RPG and Sport.
Throw in its, err, short-throw capabilities for ease of setup – and keystone functions and the ability to create a crisp 100-inch image from around 6ft away – and the $2595 price-point begins to sound very tempting.
