With new job listings going up, EA's new studio
Battlefield Seattle is "focused on building rich, exciting stories with memorable characters and powerful experiences all in the Battlefield universe". The studio is ramping up as we speak with key roles like
Design Director and Lead Mission Designer on offer, and it's all with the goal of creating a single player campaign.
No word if the new game or games will be linked directly to Battlefield 2042, but it'll be interesting to see what route Battlefield as a single player campaign takes. In terms of cinematic narrative Battlefield has always been multiplayer first, though the Battlefield Bad Company off-shoot series is one that continues to resonate. More so than the weird spin-off
Battlefield: Hardline.
Whatever it ends up being, job listing are pointing to a large-scale Call of Duty-like project with phrases like "best-in-class single player campaign experience" and "post release support as an integrated part of core development".
Battlefield Seattle is headed up by Marcus Lehto, co-creator of Halo, and falls under the banner of Vince Zampella's leadership. The Infinity Ward and Respawn Entertainment founder is the creative lead of the entire Battlefield franchise.
