... whatever it is you want to know. AusGamers, as you know, has already done a plethora of coverage on EA and DICE's forthcoming shooter, but just weeks ahead of the game's launch, we're out at a special preview event for this in Vegas, and many other games, and want to give you guys a chance to finally see where you stand on the Holiday shooter fence, especially if you can only own one.

So, here's a forum for you to throw me questions to ask, but it's really important you don't just ask something we already have, and you can catch pretty much all of our coverage either here, or by clicking here.

So, if there's a single burning question you've wanted an answer to, this is the place to do it.

EA have reached an all new low with the marketing for this game IMO. With an open beta about to start i'm f*****g sick of hearing PR spin. This is peripheral to what this thread is about obviously but im taking this opportunity to rant a bit.

A 24 second trailer for a 64 second trailer is an all new low in game marketing. The descent from demos to where we are now is a sorry affair... maybe that is a good thing to ask one of the EA PR drones about.

Ditto. But my question is, why didn't they include user dedicate server support? They have never really said why, and I don't see how MW3 can do it, but BF3 can't. Is it possible for the future? I don't really see a game lasting to long when we have to rely on people interest in renting servers out. That and I may not like what some servers have as their settings, yet I can't do anything, because that is all there is.

Qmass, it's marketing. Deal with it.

I'd be interested to know how we are meant to practise flying now. I'm very crap at flying helicopters and aircraft. It's silly for me to have to jump on an active game server, and fight my teammates for a plane, to then crash because I can't fly.

I can answer this one, the reason for the lack of dedi servers (and mod tools) is to take control, this is not new info but since you asked. Also releasing this stuff later on is about as useful as not releasing with working multiplayer, ppl have moved on.

I think the reason Actigay have given LAN & dedi support is because they know they are the underdog in the presence of BF3 and they know many people want LAN/dedi server stuff, also these ppl are mainly on PC and BF3 is one of the first titles in years to push itself on the PC, even to the point of it being the lead platform, but I doubt you could get EA to say so.

As for their marketing if you keep taking it laying down they will just put it deeper every subsequent time, I'm with Qmass on this one.

It's not say this new marketing strategy is good or anything, I do agree a short trailer for a somewhat just larger trailer is absolutely absurd, but it has got you talking hasn't it? The marketing side of it has worked, it's just the "useful" side kind of hasn't.

And in regards to the dedi's, I just don't understand why EA are denying a longer life of BF3, especially when, as you state it, they are pushing for it hard on PC. Wouldn't having your game last forever, like BF2, be something good? Or is the Battlefield series going to turn into Call of Duty now, and Call of Duty is going to turn into the Battlefield series?

I've always wished they'd remake the game that started it all BF1942. That was the bomb diggity, wing clipping noobs with my german fighter. (?) Question

My Q's;
- will there be friend-squad functionality? (ie; friends are auto-squaded or can pre-select a squad rather than playing the team swap / squad swap game once in the server)
- will there be co-op vs bots as in BF2? (or is this eliminated by the whole no dedi server thing)

Maybe they intend to release more BF games more frequently and/or push out more DLC. As for their marketing, I'm still not sold but as they say their is no such thing as bad publicity, so I guess you're right there.

Just find it bizarre is all. They hype this up to be a COD killer and all, then turn around and f*** us over with no dedicated servers.

Nothing bizarre about it, they know it will sell regardless. This move will make them more money through DLC, that's more important. They are going to lose some customers because of it, I myself am leaning back towards COD as a result of this but I think they will more than make up for with the DLC. I got no clue if they make cash off the server set up.

Are there going to be any ships? Ship to ship combat like in 1942. Does the current frostbite make it possible.

I'd like to know how they've improved multiplayer game matching and party/squad creation under xbox. Setting up a game of BF2:BC2 with friends is woeful at the best of times, and it doesn't help when you end up playing against people from overseas. Will there be options for game matching against locality?

all i want is a map thats like that island map in 1942, islands, aircraft carriers and planes = so much fun

Edit, sorry Steve, I'll keep on topic.

Another question, with the server being out of the game, what happens to features like quick matching etc? What about disconnecting during the game, does it force close and then have to open up the server browser again?

Could you ask if there will be the ability to pre-load the game client via origin?

Be interested to see how origin will cope with everyone downloading it the second it comes out.
