Battlefield 2042 got it's bit reveal last week, and we were there to bring you all the info alongside a deep dive interview with the team at DICE. Overnight, as a part of the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, we got our first slice of actual gameplay.
Made up entirely of pre-Alpha footage from actual rounds played by the dev teams, we get to see the sheer scale of Battlefield 2042 in detail. Alongside the extreme weather effects -- including sand-storms and giant tornadoes.
Fight to define the future in a world transformed by disorder. For the first time in Battlefield’s history, 128 players can join the all-out war at the same time – giving you the chance to take part in massive-scale battles where anything can happen. Get an even greater sense of spectacular, large-scale war on seven massive maps where you'll experience ever-changing battle conditions and gameplay challenges.
Best of all it all plays into the sandbox nature of Battlefield -- very cool. Battlefield 2042 is out October 22, 2021.
The trailer always show this incredibly co-ordinated team effort to win a battle, but in reality its just going to be a crapshoot of people doing whatever the hell they want. I doubt this is any indication of what the gameplay experience will be like.
