At E3 2013, AusGamers took a look at Warner Bros' latest Batman game, and the first in the Arkham series not developed by Rocksteady Games, batman Arkham Origins, then caught up with the game's Creative Director, Eric Holmes of Warer Bros Games Montreal to find out more about the new studio's approach.

In the 10 minute Q&A, we touch on the pressures and expectations of taking over the reins from Rocksteady, the scope and variety of the wider new city environment, the younger less accomplished Batman, and his relationship with Alfred, and the reasoning behind the change in voice actors.

Watch the video interview, or read our full transcription here on AusGamers.

Batman: Arkham Origins is due on PC, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PlayStation 3 on October 25th 2013.

So help me QGLians... I played Asylum to about 60% completion but lost my save in a format. I have tried playing it again but am finding it a real slog to get through the bits I have already done. Should I just go ahead and play City or are there important story bits I will be missing?

the story and challenges obviously allow/force you to do things that you can't normally do, and that tends to be more interesting than just going around the city fighting the same bunch of d*******s everywhere

Theres almost no story that carries over between the two. Theres only one story point that really carries over, about the joker, but its pretty minor, so I'd say just play Arkham City. The only thing you need to know is the Joker injects himself with his own crazy Titan formula at the end of Arkham Asylum to fight Batman, and it leaves him f***ed up.

Yeah Origins is looking better compared to when I first saw it.

fpot I played Asylum and followed up with City they are both fantastic games with City just improving Asylum and making it more fun, but as Khel said there is barely any story that is important there are a few references made but if you played 60% you were probably almost finished as like GTA series the percentage complete includes bonus missions and finding hidden items.

Yeah I really loved Asylum and was going a meticulous run through for my first time. I did a back up using Gamesave Manager but because GFWL is a piece of s*** my save game was unrecoverable.

Onto Arkham City then I guess. I suppose I can always go back to Asylum if I finish City and want more.
