Batman: Arkham City to Feature Pre-Order Robin DLC

Sleuthy internet users caught a glimpse of a Best Buy ad for Batman: Arkham City that seemingly revealed a pre-order bonus featuring DLC for the Boy Wonder to appear in the game as a playable character in "two challenge maps".

ArkhamCity.co.uk followed this trail which has since been removed (presumably at the bequest of Warner), but a Tweet shortly after all but fully confirmed we'd see Batman's sidekick in some form.

For those of you with burning questions about the recent Robin/Best Buy announcement stay tuned as we will be revealing more details soon!

We contacted Warner Bros. Australia to see if we could get any info at all even regarding where this deal might end up in retail here, but were met with a "no comment" response. Stay tuned though, for more as it becomes available - same Bat time, same Bat channel (well, AusGamers anyway).

I think some of the Tim Drake storylines were awesome, plus D*** Grayson turned out to be an awesome Batman when Batman was killed (but was actually just lost, jumping through time ala Quantum Leap)

Getting really sick of the Preorder DLC trend.

I don't get this attitude. I realise there are plenty of idiots willing to line up to hand over their money months before a game is even released without any incentive but personally even if you want my preorder 3 days before release you'd better have a decent incentive like preorder bonus or discount to get my beer money. I get it with a multiplayer title but with a single player game like this it's pretty normal for SE/CE/LE whatever editions to have extra levels, items or playable characters and those kinds of editions usually cost more, which a preorder essentially does as well.

None of the DLC codes worked for me when I bought Arkham Asylum collector's edition, so its gonna take more than The Boy Wonder to get me to pre-order this time.

+1 to that, Nightwing would have been heaps cooler, unless hes already in the game and they're just keeping it secret.

i'm glad there is no robin in Nolan's idea of batman

Non essential side quest for cameo performance in post game challenge maps.

As opposed to a map pack which splits the online gaming experience to those who have, and those who have not.

Finding it hard to compare the two completely different examples.

Well if its D*** Grayson as robin, he'll be all nimble and acrobatic and stuff (probably the gayest option and the most chance of slapping like a fairy), and if its Tim Drake he'll be fighting with a staff, and if its Damien then he'll be doing some kind of brutal psycho fighting style cos he was trained by Ra's Al Ghul's League of Assassins.

i would prefer tim drake since he would offer a different fighting style with the staff compared to catowman and batman. d*** and damien you could pretty much just reskin catwoman and batman.

I enjoyed the Batman & Robin show that the Batman cartoon evolved into, wouldn't be entirely upset if he appeared in the story. That being said I only knew the Grayson robin, and aren't much interested in pre-ordering, so it's a no go for me.

Grayson became Nightwing, and was infinitely cooler as Nightwing than as Robin, thats why we want Nightwing :P
