Larian Studios, the talented masters of role-playing behind the excellent
Divinity: Original Sin series is apparently cooking up the next entry in the long-running and missing in action
Baldur’s Gate franchise. After adding a big Roman numeral three on its website many just assumed this was in reference to Divinity 3.
As it turns out references to Baldur's Gate were found in the file of the teaser video alongside the image being attributed via copyright to Dungeons & Dragons owner Wizards of the Coast.
Check it out.
Following on from a whole slew of classic D&D computer role-playing games coming to console
this year (including the original Baldur's Gate titles) - we should expect a Baldur's Gate 3 reveal at E3 next week.
This is all fairly big news too, as Baldur's Gate and its sequel is the game that put BioWare on the map. With Larian behind a potential Baldur's Gate 3 no doubt it will look the part - so we wouldn't be surprised if this makes an appearance on the Microsoft stage as part of its PC push.
