Out at this year's BlizzCon, AusGamers had a chance to take both the PC and PS4 alpha builds of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls for a spin. We also suited up in the new character class, the Crusader, to see what it's really like to be a holier-than-thou walking tank.

The game is looking very good on both systems, but particularly tasty on the PS4 (the only currently-announced next-gen platform), which also has some unique features being added to it, one of which we detail for you today.

Yeah, there's no excuse for it really. I asked the PC team about it (interview also in the works), but they just drop lines that don't make sense. Unfortunately for PC, it's Always-On... for now.

There is no excuse not to have offline mode for PC now that the stupid auction house is gone..which should never have been in the f*****g game to begin with

Yeah it is bizarre considering the Auction House was the sole reason for online-only, but gotta roll with the punches I guess.

What exactly is the issue with constant online? I don't get it. You obviously have internet so what is the problem? Not trolling, curious.

the fact that connecting to a blizz server in the US means a certain amount of latency and all the fun that comes with it?
I wouldn't care either if it was wow, but it's not.

Path of Exile s**** all over d3 in so many ways.

i had so many disconnects with d3, sent all my pathping reports and all the other s*** they want and they simply said there is a problem with the connection my end.....it was all good until one of their many patch updates. every other game i play i have no issues what so ever. i call bulls*** on blizz.
prob will never by a game from them again after what ggg offer with poe and they actually care about the community.

Ice9ine, if blizz goes down, you can't play your game. If blizz is having server issues due to a new patch / release of an expac, you can't play your game. If you are on the move, no game.

Basically, the reason people f*****g HATE always online is because it prevents you from playing your game in tons of common situations. I remember playing D2 on a laptop on the train. Can't do that with D3.
