The 90s called, and they want their 28.8 dial up back. And, frankly, they can have it. Ahem. Today we take on Internet and PC nostalgia in our ninth entry in coveted
AusGamers Top 10 Best Games of list, highlighting the games that touched us throughout 2019.
And having been besties since the 90s, old mate
Kosta and
and myself feel we're in a pretty good position to authoritatively highlight games (or media) from the era in either fresh format, retro format or pure throwback format. Today's entry:
Hypnospace Outlaw.
In Hypnospace Outlaw the act of browsing the web as part of a detective story set in a fictional and virtual representation of 90s multimedia offers up a wonderfully original, detailed and strange universe to explore. From new musical genres to made-up slang to fictional cartoon characters, there’s a level of realism and absurdism to Hypnospace Outlaw that feels quite unlike anything else.
Stick around over the following days as we continue our 10-day countdown of the Top 10 Best Games of 2019, and feel free to chime in with your thoughts on the list and any omissions you feel should have been in here. And as already stated, we'll be following this up with an
Honourable Mentions feature detailing the other 10 games that
didn't quite make the final grade.
