As well as getting hands-on with the game, AusGamers was given a chance to chat to Sleeping Dogs' senior producer, Jeff O'Connell, from Vancouver-based United Front Games about the leap from Activision to Square Enix, and shifting their open-world action-drama from True Crime: Hong Kong to their own IP.

"For us, the cornerstone of the game is the fun piece. You can have a great story and you can have a great city, but unless the game is fun, it’s just not great," he told us during our video interview. "And we put together an experienced team of people who worked on a real cross-section of open-world games with strong mechanics."
