In a somewhat bizarre move, Ubisoft's biggest upcoming titles this year have disappeared from Steam, with no trace as to whether this is a mistake or a choice by the publisher.

Far Cry 4, Assassin's Creed Unity and The Crew have all disappeared from Valve's Steam store as of about a few hours ago according to this NeoGAF post. Users of the gaming forum are reporting that the three big titles are nowhere to be seen, and Ubisoft has yet to comment on where they may have gone.

Yesterday it was reported that UK's Steam store would not be selling any of Ubisoft's big titles, which according to the publisher can be solved by "visiting the Uplay store, our retail partners or other digital distributors." Rumours are swirling around questioning the actions, with some pointing to Steam's pricing as the source of removal. Various other stores, including digital ones like Gamersgate and GreenManGaming still have Ubisoft's titles available for purchase, as well as past Ubisoft titles which leaves further head scratching on the decisions made.

We've asked Ubisoft for clarification and should hopefully have an answer soon. In the meantime, let us know in the comments on your thoughts.

I'd say it's the same thing that happened with EA. Steam changed their contract conditions to make it so you had to sell DLC through them and EA left as they didn't want to keep handing over profits. UbiSoft is likely going to be selling DLC in game/via Uplay and Steam don't like it.

And it's funny seeing people complain about cancelling their orders for games based on the fact they will have to use Uplay. Which they already had to.

That change affected everyone, not just EA. It was a global policy change.

ubisoft has cancelled all PC ports of their games because they've finally realised they suck at porting.

agreed uplay suck. I prefer direct running from steam.

Also, I'm waiting for Steam to release tie fighter.
