With E3 2014 approaching us at rapid speed, its clear that a whole barrel full of games will be showcased during the three day event in Los Angeles, with both known and unknown games getting the spotlight. One of those games, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Unity, is rumoured to be showing off two demos; one focusing on the single-player, while the other turning its attention to a new four-player "narrative" co-op mode.

The news first surfaced via well-known NeoGAF tipster Shinobi's Twitter, where he claimed that the two demos will be showcased at the E3 event, however The Escapist (via VG247) is now claiming to have verified the rumour with a Ubisoft insider. It's also suggested that Ubisoft are likely to show both Unity demo's at their own press conference and as part of another platform holder's presentation. In the past Ubisoft has graced Sony's stages a number of times, however has also been noted as one of the few to still support Nintendo's flailing Wii U and no doubt Microsoft is looking for a taste of that Unity pie.

Assassin's Creed: Unity was originally leaked through screenshots, ahead of Ubisoft officially confirming the new-gen only title for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a rather pretty trailer. Rumours are still floating around that Wii U, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 players will be receiving their own title in the series, Assassin's Creed: Comet.

In related news, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed series reached a total of 73 million in sales according to the publisher's corporate website, which lists its "worldwide best-selling franchises." Assassin's Creed, which has featured six releases in the main series since its 2007 debut and eight additional games on browser and portable platforms, leads Ubisoft's second-best-selling property Just Dance (48 million) by 25 million units.

To put it into a rather startling perspective, the next three series in the publisher's top five in sales bear the late Tom Clancy's name: Splinter Cell (30 million), Rainbow Six (26 million) and Ghost Recon (25 million).

I really wonder where the story is going in this. I've started to play AC4 (was cheap on Amazon + steam key = win) and hopefully they can deliver a character as good as Ezio. So far Conner and Edward just aren't the same.

I enjoy Conner and Edward, but goddamn, the Ezio saga was amazing.

I also wonder what is next. They've done the high seas and the ship missions and the sheer scope of AC4 is amazing and hella fun. So I'm hoping AC5 adds something as fresh and fun as the ship missions.
