Ubisoft has today announced that the next instalment of the 76 million unit-selling Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed: Unity, will be releasing worldwide on October 28th.
Assassin’s Creed Unity is being developed by the veteran Assassin’s Creed team in Ubisoft Montreal with support from nine Ubisoft studios around the world*. Set in a once-magnificent Paris, Assassin’s Creed Unity plunges into the terror of the 1789 French Revolution and features the most dense and immersive Assassin’s Creed city ever created. Through the streets of Paris, the starving inhabitants are set to take up arms for freedom and equality. In this time of chaos and brutality, a young man named Arno, wounded by the loss of those he loved, sets on a deadly path of redemption. Arno’s pursuit throws him into the middle of a ruthless struggle for the fate of a nation, and transforms him into a true Master Assassin.
One of the key changes that Assassin's Creed: Unity will feature is the addition of four-player co-op missions, allowing drop-in/drop-out gameplay for those specific missions. Of course other changes to the new title include a new Assassin named Arno, full control parkour mechanics, a reinvented fighting system for a richer combat experience, a new stealth mode, cover system and crowd manipulation techniques.

Ubisoft also revealed a brand-new cinematic trailer alongside a single-player stage demo which you can view below. Assassin's Creed: Unity will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Gameplay footage looks amazing. I love that they've gone even further in fleshing out the gameplay mechanics and now we can enter buildings, and can get off buildings without a haystack!

I'm excited! Hopefully it has a compelling story too.

Hope they really mean it when they say combat is harder. May have to upgrade PC before Witcher 3 lands in feb.
