The promised free DLC for Assassin's Creed Unity has been released for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 versions of the game.
The Dead Kings DLC is a peace offering and apology of sorts from Ubisoft in the wake of the game's less than optimal launch and myriad of bugs, glitches, and technical issues that tested the patience of even the most loyal of AC fans. Ubisoft also gave away a free game and refunded money to those who paid for a Season Pass for DLC. The Season Pass was abandoned in the wake of all the problems with the game.
Dead Kings is set after the events of Unity and sees Arno journeying to the town of Saint Denis, which was known at the time as Franciade. Arno ultimately goes on a mission to explore the catacombs of the city to uncover the secrets of the "dead kings." The DLC features additional side quests, co-op missions, new weapons, historical figures such as Napoleon and the Marquis de Sade, and a new enemy faction called the Raiders.
