Many people speculated this would be the year we finally the next official chapter in Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise, but today the publisher announced yet another entry in the story of AC2's Ezio Auditore.
In Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, master assassin Ezio Auditore walks in the footsteps of his legendary mentor, Altaïr, on a journey of discovery and revelation. It is a perilous path – one that will take Ezio to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of Templars threatens to destabilise the region.
Multiplayer also returns, and we have but one single image to show you today, with a promise from Ubi we'd see, and learn, more at this year's E3, so stay tuned.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations is due to arrive on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 this November.

I was really impressed with what they did with Brotherhood, but that was mostly because the setting of Rome was such an awesome step up from the smaller Italian cities of AC2. It's cool that they are moving away from Italy for Revelations, but I really think they should have started with a new assassin for it; a new character, because Ezio is getting pretty tired. Even just Ezio's (eventually presumed) child could have filled that role just fine.

He looks old in that pictures. I've only just started playing Brotherhood, so I don't know if the game spans over a long enough time for him to get grey, but that seems pretty interesting to me. Ezio's a cool character, and while I'm keen to see the franchise move a bit further forward in the timeline, I'm still happy with Ezio for the time being.

Ezio's story in Brotherhood spans from 1499 to 1507. From memory there is a point where he noticeably ages, but it doesn't affect gameplay in any way. His date of birth is listed as 1459, so he starts Brotherhood as a 40 year old and finishes at 48.

The start of Brotherhood they go one about how he's no spring chicken any more, I think he is in his 40's or something by the end of AC2.

I don't mind Ezio but these really feel like glorified expansion packs. I'm hoping when AC3 does eventually come out that it feels like an update to the franchise, I'm hoping for an end to historical preludes so we can get into modern day assassinry. I enjoy their recreation of the renaissance period but just the way this franchise is constructed means it can't be drawn out forever and needs to come to a conclusion in Desmond's world.

Yeah, there's a point at the start of Brotherhood where Desmond is seeing those ghosty projection things and comments on Ezio looking quite old. I guess that will be linking into Revelations.

Would have been nice to see either a new assassin or Altaïr again. In the room with all the statues below the villa they had quite the selection to choose from.

Yep what Rav said.
I was kinda hoping for them to touch on one of the other assasins, we all know there was more than Altair and Ezio
