The Assassin's Creed franchise has been one of the very few originally single-player only games to introduce a multi-player component that didn't just feel tacked on, and the upcoming Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is poised to continue building on the series' stealthy take on competitive play.

If sneaking around assassinating your opponents in Renaissance Italy or the American Revolution wasn't compelling enough, this time you get to do it as a smartly dressed pirate in the 16th century Caribbean. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is due on October 31st 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U, with PC to follow in November, and PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions also in production.
