Ubisoft has today revealed plans to continue the multiplayer story for Assassin's Creed 3 after release, keeping the game updated throughout the year. In an interview with
CVG (via
Shack News), Ubisoft Annecy has revealed plans to continue updating the multiplayer storyline by expanding on the fictional company Abstergo.
While details are still being kept locked down, according to the interview the fictional company has become a commercial business, giving the public the chance to "relive their past in HD". The multiplayer will offer players the chance to level up, revealing more about the company's motives, including videos and files. According to Ubisoft Annecy, "every month you'll have new challenges to unlock new content that will continue the storyline throughout the year."
One of the larger questions that many will be asking themselves is why Abstergo are now giving out this revolutionary product to the public, something they have been quite adamant previously to keep hidden. Hopefully with such interesting plots and twists we can see a tie in with the PlayStation Vita spin-off, Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation.
Assassin's Creed 3 will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 31st October, and for PC on November 23rd. Assassin's Creed: Liberation will be available for PlayStation Vita on October 30th.
