Ubisoft has today revealed that the wall-climbing action game Assassin's Creed 3 has sold a whopping 7 million copies worldwide in its first month of launch, putting it as the fastest-selling game in Ubisoft's arsenal of titles.
Ubisoft has also dropped some stats for those wanting to know what 7 million players have been up to. In the solo mission part of the game, players have accumulated more than 82 centuries of gaming time and committed more than 3 billion assassinations which would probably get you put in jail. Moving to multiplayer, Ubisoft claims twice as many players are now participating compared to Assassin's Creed: Revelations modes with more than 250 million assassinations having been performed in more than 5 billion multiplayer sessions.
“The reception for Assassin’s Creed 3 has been exceptional, and this success has positioned the game among the best sellers of the 2012 holiday season” said Geoffroy Sardin, EMEA chief marketing & sales officer, Ubisoft. “We knew we had something special on our hands when Assassin’s Creed 3 was launched, and we’re really excited and proud to see how much fans are enjoying the latest installment in the franchise.”
Assassin's Creed 3 is available now on PC, Xbox 360, Wii U and PlayStation 3 at all participating retailers.
