In a surprise announcement at GDC 2018, the annual Game Developer's Conference, Ark: Survival Evolved developer Wildcard revealed that a Nintendo Switch version is currently in the works.
And that feature-wise it will have the same content and multiplayer functionality as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. We didn't get much more info that that, other than it'll also be out sometime later this year.
"The Switch’s handheld mode provides a fantastic new capability for survivors who want to fully immerse themselves in the vast worlds of ARK," said Studio Wildcard’s Jeremy Stieglitz. "With this new version, Switch players can go directly from hunting and taming while sitting on the couch, to forming online tribes and searching out new conquests when on the bus, waiting in line, or wherever they happen to be."
This news, in addition to iOS and Android versions, means that in a matter of months Ark: Survival Evolved will be playable on just about every gaming device under the sun (or indoors).
